理論上說，全自動混凝土攪拌車的裝載量越大，運輸效率越高，但這也會導(dǎo)致車輛購置成本直線上升和通過性下降。裝載量為8～9m38×4底盤的混凝土攪拌運輸車要比裝載量為6～7m36×4底盤的價格貴30%～40%；同時，建筑工地一般地域狹小，臨時施工道路路況很差，大車尤其是半掛車行動不便的問題須充分考慮到。因此，確定車輛的裝載量時定要綜合考慮各方面的因素，不可顧此失彼。

混凝土裝入車內(nèi)以后，要求在2h或更短的時間內(nèi)卸到工作面上，在此期間須不停地攪拌；如果在規(guī)定時間內(nèi)不能運到工地或因各種原因停止攪拌，車內(nèi)混凝土就會報廢，嚴重的會導(dǎo)致混凝土凝固在車內(nèi)，造成攪拌運輸車報廢。這對攪拌運輸車的可靠性提出了嚴格的要求，絕對不允許攪拌運輸車在工作時發(fā)生停機的故障，因此全自動混凝土攪拌車選型首先要考慮的就是車輛須十分可靠，關(guān)鍵部位如發(fā)動機和傳動驅(qū)動裝置發(fā)生故障的可能性要越低越好。

沙和礫石是混凝土的主要組成成分。它們使全自動混凝土攪拌車混凝土貯罐及進、出料口在工作時磨損嚴重。一般情況下，采用低合金鋼制造的混凝土貯罐使用壽命為5萬～8萬m3，混凝土貯罐內(nèi)的螺旋葉片壽命只有3萬～4萬m3。國產(chǎn)混凝土貯罐一般由高強度低合金鋼鋼材制成，比普通A3鋼材耐磨提高1～2倍。一些進口混凝土貯罐采用錳硼專用耐磨鋼材，并且在易磨損部位鑲耐磨材料加固，因此其使用壽命比低合金鋼制造的又可提高1倍。
